We have designed a timber frame extension to passivhaus standards. On one side the kitchen has been extended and on the other side we have created annex for the client's father. Solar shading prevents overheating from the south-facing glazing in the summer, but allows sunlight to warm the house in the winter when the sun path is lower. Energy from the solar panels will be stored in batteries to be used at night time.
