Bryn Afon   |   New Build Passive House

Ty Croes, Anglesey, 2021

This new build is a detached three bedroom house in Ty Croes. It is modular timber frame construction and designed using the Passive House Planning Package. The structural insulated timber frame panels will be built off-site by a local manufacturer, delivered to site in sections and put together within a few days. The material palette will be modest and use locally sourced materials such as timber, slate and stone to connect the building with the surrounding landscape. The original building was in a dilapidated state, so it has been demolished, which has allowed us to orientate the new building South. Brise soleil will protect the ground floor habitable rooms from direct sunlight in the Summer months, to reduce glare and overheating.
