Site visit to Llanethdy Gwyn - the Cheese Factory. The manufacturing area is now operational and processing sheep's milk to make delicious cheeses and yoghurts. The client is now looking for a tenant for the first floor cafe .
At the very beginning of our process, we model up the existing house in 3D and then we often draw a basic sketch over the top to explore different ideas.
CONSTRUCTION AT PANTON ARMS
We popped into to see progress at the Panton Arms Pub and to grab a pint. The extension is almost complete and we are loving they took on the 'board on board' cladding pattern.
You can only just make out this house enveloped by the trees. Looking forward to this renovation...

BUILDING REGULATIONS COMPLETE
We love working with Evans Wolfenden Partnership Structural Engineers. They often model the structure in 3D, even for some of our smaller projects, like Ty Felin, which helps us check that everything fits together as it should.
Time to start my own renovation project on this Victorian house. We (Jonathan & family) have just moved to West Kirby, Wirral. Looking forward to water sports on the marina. I will be covering this side of North Wales, Cheshire and Merseyside and Chris will continue to cover North Wales and Anglesey. Exciting times!!
We love to finish every Friday with some wild swimming. It's a great way to refresh the mind and often has the amazing side-effect of helping us come up with design solutions for our projects. We highly recommend it!

Planning approval for a Traditional Timber Frame extension at Tan Y Bryn.
PLANNING GRANTED FOR EXTENSION
Looking forward to starting the Building Regulation drawings for this single storey extension in Beaumaris.
Construction underway for the retrofit of Tan Yr Esgair, Rhuthun. Breathable woodfibre insulation wraps around the house and bead insulation is blown into the masonry cavity to improve the thermal envelope.

Impressive progress made by this self builder at Nyth Pren. Timber cladding is being fixed over the wood fibre and straw bale insulated walls.
SEINTWAR TIMBER FRAME BUNGALOW COMPLETE
This modular timber frame bungalow is complete and the clients have just moved in. We love the locally sourced timber, slate and stone chosen for Seintwar.

When designing extensions to old houses, it can sometimes be worth getting advise from the local planning authority on early designs via a pre-app to improve the chances of a successful planning application.
FRIDAY FINISH ON THE BEACH
Great to have the family join us for a stroll on the beach at the end of the week.
Planning permission has been granted for Cae'r Wylan. We have added roof dormers which lead out onto a balcony, that wraps around the house. The new rear extension opens up the views towards the ocean. The garage also has a guest bedroom upstairs.

Planning permission has been granted for Ty Felin. We created a new office with a high vaulted ceiling and improved the access to the property.
FIRST SWIM OF THE YEAR
We went for a wild swim in LLyn Padarn and boy was it cold. We made up for it will a warm meal afterwards. The year has started with a bang and we are excited about new the projects lining up.
